Jersey beats the Netherlands and Hongary
It is about to release a four-stamp square full of precious metals.
First, we announced the Netherlands’ scoop : a completely silver surprise stamp. Then we wrote that there is always the principle of ‘boss above boss’ thus referring to the release of an Hungarian stamp carrying a small golden layer. But the Jersey post services prove that one still can go one step further : they are about to release four-stamp square practically full of precious metals. ‘A World First’ is the title of their advertising campaign. ‘The first single stamp design to incorporate 24 carat gold, 22 carat gold and 99,9% of silver.’ An expensive square, but then they will cost you nearly 20 euro.
